Stainless Steel Sculpture

The inner core of the Talley Trylon sculpture is made from 12 gauge stainless steel sheet metal. Stainless steel is weather-resistant and should not require maintenance for many years. The inner core will be seam-welded with stainless filler material and ground smooth. A brushed finish will be applied to this layer.

A second outside layer of 3/16" thick mild steel will hold the CNC plasma-cut patterns. This layer will receive a coat of zinc primer and will be top-coated with a graphite black matte enamel paint.

The two layers will be attached with 1/4" x 7/8" stainless couplings and 1/4" x 1/2" blackened stainless hex head machine screws.
