| The finish on this Nouveau style wall sconce was created by using the traditional blacksmith oil finish. The oil is applied while the piece is approximately 300° F. This process allows the oil to penetrate the scale so that a hard rust inhibitive coating is achieved. The piece is then hand sanded to contrast the textures created during the forging operations. Afterwards, carnuba wax is applied to seal the piece. |
