Wrought Iron Candelabrum

This wrought iron candelabra, with curvilinear design is part of the permanent collection of the North Carolina Museum of History and Archives.

The curvilinear wrought iron candle holder is hand forged from 3/8" round carbon steel rods. The candelabras' curvilinear design begins with fullered penny shaped legs and spirals into a swirling bird cage central design.

The gradual tapering of the spiraled candle holders give a sense of delicateness to the overall form. The candelabra takes its final form by introducing the natural form of a fern unfolding while in its youthful state.
