Scratch Brushing Patina

Once the patina has had time to cure, I then go back over the entire brass panel and remove excess coloring with a medium grit Scotch-Brite pad.
The edges are rubbed more to get an edge highlight. The rest of the surface is rubbed to get a smooth matte finish.
As you can see from the image to the right, there is a considerable amount of surface which has to be processed. The close up of the armadillo above shows the piece after a coat of wax is applied.
