I use TIG welding to join the scrolls to the upper frame and lower bracing. Stick welding is used to join the bracing to the legs because of the deeper penetration which stick welding is known for. All welds are made so that they can not be viewed from the front or side of the console table. Note that the use of welding for decorative work has been used since the Art Nouveau period as a way to liberate design constraints previously used by metalsmiths. I am certainly glad that I live and work with today's technology. Otherwise, I would not be able to produce the unique designs which I use in the artwork which I create. |
