Upsetting the Faceted Ball

It is very difficult to show the extreme force that is delivered by Zelda's top anvil die in a still photograph. This picture is the best example that I can come up with.

Zelda, my 3B Nazel hammer, has the ability to provide up to two tons of force over 60 times per minute. To achieve the faceted balls, I have to continuously work the material over the whole surface.

The first step is to upset, or scrunch down the hot steel so that I can then turn the material on edge for further refinement.
