Table Medallion - Black Electra Detail 2

My assistant Malte was steadying the piece on the centerline of the console table while I was adjusting my welding shield and preparing to tack weld the medallion in place. I had just lowered the welding shield and positioned the electrode for the first tack weld when all of the sudden, the lights went out! What a bummer! Both of us maintained our positions for a minute or so before giving up the notion of getting the power back anytime soon. We even waited a half hour hoping to get electrical power, but no such luck. I ended up loading the table and medallion and went to another metal shop 30 miles away to use their welding machine. Guess what happened when we arrived? Yep, no power! They too had lost power over the whole downtown area. So now you know why this medallion is called the "Black Electra Medallion." Fitting name, isn't it?
